114 - HITTING There are two types of hitters, contact and
power. Contact hitters try to obtain a high on base percentage and batting average. Power
hitters have the ability to hit the long ball. This affords them a better chance to drive
in base runners than contact hitters. Confidence is difficult to maintain for young
hitters as they have difficulty dealing with the negatives of hitting. |
