302 - GETTING A LEAD OFF
1. Never cross your left foot over your right foot. Shuffle off the bag,
about
two or three steps.
2. Never slide feet first back into a bag. Always head first, or jump back.
3. Increase your lead off two or three steps as the pitcher releases the ball to
home-plate.
Note: The only time you use the cross over step is when you are going to steal
or it is a hit and run.
