302 GETTING A LEAD OFF
bluebasebar.gif (4146 bytes)

1. Never cross your left foot over your right foot. Shuffle off the bag, about
    two or three steps.
2. Never slide, feet first back into a bag. Always head first, or jump back.
3. Increase your lead off two or three steps as the pitcher releases the ball to
    home-plate.

Note: The only time you use the cross over step is when you are going to steal            or it is a hit and run.
