411 - STARTING PITCHER GAME DAY ROUTINE
1. Have your "game" meal approx. three hours before start time.
High on
carbohydrates, no meat.
2. Relax and visualise what you plan to do during the game. Always visualise a
positive approach.
3. Arrive at the stadium at least 90 minutes before the game is scheduled to
start. Casually stretch and loosen your entire body.
4. While warming up concentrate on individual keys. Such as, going ball of
foot to ball of foot and focus on positive-aggressive thoughts.
5. Start warming up your arm with fastballs, then your change-up, curve ball
and any other pitch that you might have. After you are warmed-up
concentrate of control by hitting certain spots with all of your
pitches.
Mastering them one at a time.
6. About 20 minutes before the start of the game, pitch as if the first inning
takes place in the pullpen. Be at the top of your game when you
go to the
mound.
7. Just before game is scheduled to start, change your undershirt to a clean dry
one. Go over last minute instructions from your coach and catcher
