412 - STARTING PITCHER GAME DAY WARM-UP ROUTINE
(1) Easy jog to loosen muscles and joints.
(2) Two or three wind-sprints.
(3) Stretching Program (See 414-4 for stretches and section 705 for streching
techinques.)
(4) Two or three more wind-sprints
(5) Play catch with your catcher, starting at about 30 to 40 feet, working back
to 70-80 feet.
(6) When loose, go the the bull-pen and start throwing ball from the rubber,
working on your control. Throw to the inside and outside
corners of the
plate first. Half your throws should be from the stretch
positions and the other half from the wind-up position.
Note: You must get it right in the warm-up first.
Always use the pitches that
working for you in the game
that you have mastered in your bull-pen
session.
